How a round works in Homienoes
Everyone starts with seven tiles. Match an open end, draw one when you cannot, and pass only when the boneyard is empty. After each play, open ends that total a multiple of five score immediately. Big 6 (6:6) goes first in the a new game. The layer that "Hominoes" goes first in the next round., and can place any tile on the board.
- OpenIn a brand new game, 6:6 opens if anyone holds it; otherwise the next double down the line (5:5, 4:4, …) has priority. That opening double becomes the spinner. A lone 5:5 scores 10; a lone 6:6 counts as 6 (no score).
- Play or drawNo match? Draw one tile at a time until you can play. A double at an arm tip counts both halves (6:6 → 12).
- Score clean fivesAfter each play, if open ends sum to a multiple of five, that total is scored immediately.
- Locked tableIf nobody can play and the boneyard is empty, the lowest hand count wins the round and scores the other players' remaining pips (nearest multiple of five).
